A peace study was done in Mrs. Olfson’s class and Japanese class. A special speaker, an international student from Japan, was invited to share about Hiroshima . Today they made cranes. The crane is symbol of peace and hope. Students wrote their name and message on origami cranes. We will ship these to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.

Career/College Fair was a success!! From Principal Hyder: "Holly Thoren did an amazing job. I was in Stuart's room this morning with Holly when a vendor/presenter walked in. Holly confidently walked across the room, enthusiastically greeted them, and shook their hands. It was clear she had control over the event." Thank you to teachers for being a part of the event. You were present and kept to the program. Thank you to Stuart for guiding Holly and being her support. I talked to each booth, and many commented on how large it was, and they felt honored to be there. The Operator's Union stated, "I've been to a lot of these, and this has been the best set-up I've seen."

Congratulations to Trinity Tafoya for signing with Eastern Oregon University and getting a wrestling scholarship. She is coach Restek’s first college-bound wrestler and Tenino's first female wrestler to wrestle at the college level.. Seeing so many students headed to college to further their education and continue extracurricular activities is fantastic. This year we have had four signings, Lizzy Disken to SPSCC, Kami Oliveira to SPSCC, Alex Reichelderfer to Centralia, and Trinity.

TENINO VS RAINIER FOOD DRIVE RULES: Our beautiful revolving trophy is looking for a new home starting on April 1st. Will it be Tenino HS or will it be Rainier HS? Help us contribute to our community by participating in our Food Drive Challenge. 1. All donations must be commercially canned, boxed or packaged and are weighed based upon what the label says. The food bank tally will serve as the total without question. 2. All donated items must be non-perishable (not need refrigeration) and usable by the food bank. 3. Any community group (Boy Scouts, Church, Eagles, Business) may contribute to the food drive, simply tell the food bank worker that this donation is for the MARCH CANNED FOOD DRIVE COMPETITION between Rainier and Tenino. 4. Food donations will be accepted from March 1 at 8 a.m. through March 30 by 5 p.m. You may donate to one of the sites around town or you may deliver directly to the food bank. Please let the food bank know you are participating in the competition. 5. If some folks would like to donate cash instead of canned items, we will gladly count each dollar as 1 pound. The food banks often appreciate cash so that they can buy specific items that they need. Students should not accept cash, ask the adult to take it directly to the food bank or to the high school.
