
On Friday , TES 4th grade students participated in a hands on learning experience by dissecting squid as part of the Living Things Science Unit. Teacher Rebecca Perez led the demonstration and instruction. Thank you to all the volunteer parent/guardian helpers.


October is #NationalPrincipalAppreciation month and we're going to celebrate each of them throughout the month! In our principal spotlight today is Mrs. Jen Van De Wege, our amazing principal at Tenino Elementary! While Mrs. Van De Wege is entering only her second year in Tenino, she has been in education for 28 years! We are so happy to have her positivity, energy and leadership in our community! Thanks for all you do!


Hey! Like to read? Do you enjoy conversations about a good book that you've read with fellow enthusiasts? Come join the Books & Bites book club for adults at the Tenino Library. We'll meet once a month (no meeting in December) from Oct 31st to Mar 27th from 5:30 - 6:30. Snacks will be provided by Friends of the Library. The flyer below has meeting date details....


The Tenino Library has some awesome events coming up.... Rok Blocks for Elementary school aged children on Nov 1st from 3:30 - 4:30 AND Rolled Paper Creations for All Ages on Nov 6th from 2:00 - 4:00. These two crafts promise to be lots of creative fun!! Election Day is coming up. If you need a little help with the ballot, the Tenino Library staff is there to help. The library is open an additional day from 8 am - 8 pm on Mondays to assist with Voter ballots only. The library is also open for business during regular library hours. Tenino Elementary 4th grade students gathered to watch Mr. Edmonds dissect a cow eye as part of their Living Things Science Unit. This demonstration was to prepare the students for their upcoming hands on learning experience dissecting squid.



On September 18, 2024 TES had their first Celebration Assembly where they recognized students who exemplified the character trait "RESPECT: Accepting others for who they are, even when they are different from you, or you do not agree with them." Special guest Cheeto the Tiger made an appearance to cheer on the students.






On Saturday, Oct. 12th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., the Tenino Library is hosting another awesome event, "Clay Play"! Get creative with an air dry clay. Come one come all - this event is open to all ages.


The Tenino Library is hosting a Watercolor Painting class for Elementary Aged Kids on Friday, October 4th. Even if you don't know how, come and have fun...experiment with an interesting style of media.

In our Retiree Spotlight today is Mr. Charly Harrington!! Mr. Harrington has been the Principal at Tenino Elementary for the last 8 years but has worked in education for nearly 27 years! His plans for retirement include traveling around the country with his wife and pups in their camper van. Thank you for your dedication, leadership and for the impact that you've had in our community for the last 8 years Mr. Harrington, we wish you all the best in your newest adventure!

WANTED: TES Library Books Due
All Tenino Elementary Library Books are DUE by Friday, June 7th. If a book has been lost, please bring payment to the TES office. Missing books will result in your student’s report card being withheld until payment received or the book is returned.
